Constitutionally
speaking:
Christian’s tend to use the Bible to justify their beliefs
and actions. Some Christians claim to have a God given right to defy the
constitution and local laws that make all Americans equal. Instead of claiming
their constitutional right, some will claim it as their God given right. Those
who make that claim obviously haven’t read the Bible.
Example 1: “I
have a God given right to possess a weapon for my defense.” --Not so! Our right
to bear arms is in the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution, not in
the Bible.
Example 2: “It is
my God given right to refuse service to same sex couples.” --Not so! There is no
passage, verse or scripture in the Bible that justifies that claim; also, that
claim is contrary to our constitutional rights of equality. Constitutionally
speaking; we are all created equal, sorry, the Bible doesn’t say that, but the
constitution/DOI does.
